Tema pertama dari makalah interdisipliner ini adalah hubungan antara media massa (televisi/sosial

khususnya media) dan khalayaknya. Sejak debutnya pada tahun 1959 sebagai media hiburan dalam negeri, televisi di Nigeria telah menjadi negeri ajaib untuk pemandangan baru, dan konsep asing dan aneh yang menjadi trendsetter untuk keheranan pemirsa dan persaingan gaya hidup yang antusias. Menggunakan teori gratifikasi Dalam menggali tema ini, kita melihat pengertian cross-dressing sebagai bentuk keajaiban budaya yang dibuat dimungkinkan oleh kemajuan teknologi yang semakin menormalkan opsi "canggih, diimpor" di budaya hiburan. Tema kedua mengkaji fenomena resultan dalam kerangka fluiditas gender dan identitas yang kabur saat kami menginterogasi pengalaman sandiwara dan individu artis persepsi. Pertanyaan ini diartikulasikan sebagai bukti determinisme teknologi yang menyediakan template analitis untuk anteseden yang dapat memberikan penjelasan untuk penerimaan yang luar biasa narasi dan praktik layar ini dalam budaya kontemporer.
