Removing Stigma: Inclusive Public Policy Innovations for People with Disabilities

Penelitian ini mengkaji perkembangan kebijakan publik yang inklusif bagi penyandang disabilitas di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada pengurangan stigma dan kesenjangan aksesibilitas. Meskipun sudah ada undang-undang seperti Undang-Undang tentang Penyandang Disabilitas Nomor 8 Tahun 2016, namun masih banyak kekurangan dalam implementasinya, seperti infrastruktur yang belum ramah disabilitas dan kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat. Metode studi pustaka digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari dokumen resmi pemerintah dan basis data ilmiah untuk mengevaluasi kendala dan peluang dalam penciptaan layanan publik yang inklusif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa infrastruktur publik yang tidak dapat diakses, seperti ramp dan rambu braille, menghadapi masalah yang signifikan. Selain itu, mereka menunjukkan bahwa petugas layanan publik kurang memahami hak-hak penyandang disabilitas. Kasus-kasus di kota-kota seperti Jakarta, Surabaya, dan Bandung menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan adaptif dan pelatihan penyedia layanan bermanfaat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan pentingnya kebijakan yang menggabungkan peningkatan aksesibilitas fisik, kampanye kesadaran inklusif, dan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan kebijakan untuk mewujudkan Indonesia yang lebih adil secara sosial.
