Abstract
This article discusses the age structure model in mangrove crabs (Scylla serrata) by considering the nature of cannibalism and shrinkage of mangrove forest area. By using an age structure population model, it can be shown how age differences in the population can affect the survivability of a particular population. In this article, the system is analyzed by determining the equilibrium points and local stability of each solution. There are four equilibrium points, namely the extinction of the entire population, the extinction of two mangrove crab populations, the extinction of environmental carrying capacity, and the existence point of all populations, each of which has its stability conditions. Furthermore, in the numerical simulation section, which aims to determine the suitability of the results of population dynamics caused by cannibalism in adult mud crabs and shrinkage of mangrove forest area. In addition to the dynamics, variations in cannibalism and shrinkage parameters were carried out, the results of which showed that the greater the value of the cannibalism parameter, the younger the mangrove crab population would decrease. As for the variation of the shrinkage parameter, it shows that, the greater the value of the shrinkage parameter, the population of its environmental carrying capacity will experience extinction
