Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

The Journal of Machine Learning and Knowledge Systems (JMLKS) publishes high-quality original research articles, review papers, and technical notes in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Knowledge Systems, and Intelligent Computing.

Authors are requested to follow the guidelines below before submitting their manuscripts.

1. Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English or Bahasa Indonesia.
2. Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
3. All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using similarity detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism or excessive similarity will be rejected.
4. Authors must register an account in the JMLKS online submission system before submitting their manuscripts.
5. All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers.
6. Manuscripts must be prepared using the official JMLKS Manuscript Template and comply with the formatting requirements described below.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. It should preferably not exceed 15 words and should avoid uncommon abbreviations or formulas.

Authors and Affiliations

Provide the full names of all authors without academic degrees or professional titles. Include:

• Institutional affiliation
• City and country
• ORCID ID (recommended)
• Email address of the corresponding author

A maximum of six (6) authors is recommended unless the research justifies additional contributors.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in English and should contain 150–250 words in a single paragraph.

The abstract should briefly describe:

• Background
• Research objective
• Methodology
• Main results
• Conclusions

Provide 3–6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

1. Introduction

The Introduction should include:

• Background and motivation
• Literature review and state-of-the-art
• Research gap
• Research objectives
• Main contributions of the study

The final paragraph should clearly state the novelty and objectives of the research.

2. Materials and Methods

Describe the research methodology in sufficient detail to enable reproducibility.

This section may include:

• Dataset description
• Data preprocessing
• Proposed methodology
• Model architecture
• Experimental setup
• Evaluation metrics
• Statistical analysis (if applicable)

3. Results and Discussion

Present research findings clearly using figures, tables, and quantitative analyses.

The discussion should explain:

• Interpretation of the obtained results
• Comparison with previous studies
• Advantages and limitations of the proposed approach
• Scientific significance and practical implications

Results should be supported by sufficient experimental evidence.

4. Conclusion

The conclusion should:

• Summarize the major findings
• Answer the research objectives
• Highlight the contributions
• Discuss limitations
• Suggest future research directions

Avoid repeating the abstract or discussion.

Acknowledgements (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge funding agencies, institutions, or individuals who contributed to the research.

Conflict of Interest

Authors should declare any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work. If none exist, please state:

"The authors declare no conflict of interest."

References

References should:

• Follow the IEEE citation style.
• Be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
• Include at least 80% recent references (published within the last five years).
• Primarily cite journal articles, conference proceedings, and reputable scholarly publications.
• Include DOI whenever available.
