Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINES OF

JOURNAL OF BEAUTY AND COSMETOLOGY(JBC)

 

  1. Articles written for JBC include conceptual ideas and research results in education. Manuscript typed with Microsoft Word program, Times New Roman letter 12 pt size, single spaced, printed on A4 paper for maximum 20 pages. Submission is made by submitting to Open Journal System (OJS) with address http://www.journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jkk and e-mail attachment to the address: jkk@unesa.ac.id
  2. Articles are written in Indonesian or English. Systematic conceptual articles are the title, author name, abstract with keywords, introduction, discussion, conclusions, and suggestions, as well as reference. While the systematic article research results are the title, author name, abstract with keywords, introduction, methods, results, and discussion, conclusions and suggestions, as well as reference.
  3. The title of the article in Indonesian should be no more than 12 words, and the title of the article in English should be no more than 10 words. The title is printed with a capital letter in the middle, with a 14 pt.
  4. The name of the author of the article is listed without an academic degree, with the name and address of the institution of origin, and placed under the title of the article. In the case of a script written by a team, the editor only deals with the primary author or author whose name is listed in the first place. The primary author should include a correspondence or e-mail address.
  5. Abstracts and keywords are written in two languages (Indonesian and English). The maximum length of each abstract is 150 words, while the number of keywords is 3-5 words or a combination of words. Abstract conceptual ideas contain at least the title of the article, purpose, and conclusion. Abstract of research result at least contains the title of article, purpose, method, and result of research.
  6. The introductory section contains backgrounds, literature review, and objectives. The entire introductory section is presented in an integrated form in paragraphs, with a length of 15-20% of the total length of the article.
  7. Section methods (when articles as a result of research) or discussion (when articles as conceptual ideas). The method consists of research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis that is actually done by the researcher. The discussion contains solutions to problems that are presented systematically and logically based on the results of relevant reference thinking and review (if the article as a conceptual idea). All parts of the method or discussion are expressed in paragraph form 10-15% of the total length of the article.
  8. Section of research result contains exposure of result of analysis related to the research question. The discussion contains the meaning of results and comparison with the theory and/or the results of similar research. In this conceptual article, the section integrates with the discussion section as well as point 7. The length of the exposure results and the discussion of 40-60% of the total length of the article.
  9. The conclusion section contains research findings in the form of answers to research questions (if the article as a result of research) or in the form of the essence of the discussion (if the article as conceptual ideas). The conclusions are presented in paragraph form. The suggestion section is based on conclusions.
  10. All referenced sources must be listed in the reference. The literature sources of at least 80% of the literature published last 10 years. The literature used is the primary sources of research articles in journals or research reports (including thesis, thesis, dissertation). Articles published in the Journal of Education are recommended for use as libraries.
  11. Citation using caged quotation technique (last name, year). The inclusion of a source of a direct quotation should be accompanied by a description of the page number from which the quotation originated. Example: (Davis, 2003: 47).
  12. The procedures for presenting quotations, tables, and drawings follow the provisions of the Script Writing Guidelines or directly copying the procedures used in the articles that have been published. The Indonesian article uses the Enhanced Spellings Generalized Indonesian Guidelines and standardized terms by the Language Center.
  13. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by the best partner (reviewers) appointed by the editor in his field of expertise. The author of the article is given the opportunity to make improvements (revised) manuscript by recommendations or suggestions from the peer-reviewer or editor. The certainty of loading or rejection of the text will be notified via electronic mail.
  14. Anything involving licensing of quotations or the use of computer software for the making of manuscripts or other issues related to the intellectual property rights of the author of the article, and any legal consequences which may arise thereof, shall be the sole responsibility of the author of the article.
  15. As a prerequisite for the processing of the article, the contributor of the script must be a customer for a minimum of one year (two numbers). Articles not loaded will not be refunded, except at the author's request.
  16. The reference is structured in the following manner and sorted alphabetically and chronologically.
