Legal Awareness, Business LegalityAbstract
Government Regulation Number 7 of 2021 concerning the Ease, Protection, and Empowerment of Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which mandates that MSME operators possess business legality has not automatically resulted in compliance with the regulation. It is unfortunate that this requirement remains unfulfilled, particularly given that there are approximately 8 (eight) MSME operators in Kedungguwo Village, Sukomoro District, Magetan Regency, who rely on these enterprises for their livelihood. This study employs an empirical method and a sociology of law approach. The findings reveal that the community in Kedungguwo Village, Sukomoro District, Magetan Regency, has not implemented Government Regulation Number 7 of 2021, nor do they possess the legal awareness to secure the required business legality; this situation is attributed to factors regarding education and the initiative taken by the MSME operators themselves in seeking information and/or obtaining business legality.
