This research examines the implementation of Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections in fulfilling prisoners’ rights to obtain work training at Class IIA Kediri Correctional Institution. This study uses an empirical juridical method with a socio-juridical approach through interviews and document studies. The results show that prisoners’ rights have been fulfilled through work training programs such as welding, automotive, agribusiness, carving, carpentry, furniture making, and knitting. These programs aim to improve prisoners’ skills and prepare them to reintegrate into society. However, the implementation has not been optimal due to limited facilities, budget, workspaces, instructors, overcapacity conditions, and the low motivation of some prisoners. Of 906 prisoners in the institution, only 20 participated in the work training program. Therefore, better facilities, budget support, competent instructors, and cooperation with external parties are needed to make work training more effective and accessible to all prisoners.
