Kuriositas Identitas Dirinya Tokoh Sekar Dalam Novel Untu Hiu Karya Asti Pradnya Ratri (Kajian Psikologi Erik Erikson)

Abstract

Self-identity is a self-concept that is inherent in the individual. This self-identity can be a differentiator between one individual and another. In an effort to gain self-identity, individuals experience a sense of curiosity that arises in the creative ego. This sense of curiosity can encourage self-exploration. The novel Untu Hiu by Asti Pradnya Ratri is a modern Javanese literary work that tells the life journey of a character named Sekaring Tyas Sutejo who is looking for his identity. This article uses Erik Erikson's psychological study to reveal the process of self-identity realisation and the form of self-identity reflected in Sekar's character. Sekar's self-identity is analysed using descriptive qualitative method with reading and note-taking techniques. The results of the data analysis in this article show that Sekar's sense of curiosity about her self-identity is realised through curiosity about her career and curiosity about her family. This curiosity leads Sekar to explore and commit to the career and family chapters. Based on the exploration and commitment, it can be concluded that Sekar's self-identity is divided into four dimensions, namely personal identity, family identity, moral ethical identity, and social identity.

Abstrak

Identitas diri merupakan konsep diri yang melekat pada individu. Identitas diri tersebut dapat menjadi pembeda antara individu satu dengan lainnya. Dalam upaya mendapatkan identitas diri, individu mengalami rasa kuriositas yang muncul pada ego kreatif. Rasa kuriositas ini dapat mendorong munculnya tindakan eksplorasi diri. Novel dengan judul Untu Hiu karya Asti Pradnya Ratri merupakan sebuah karya sastra Jawa modern yang menceritakan perjalanan hidup tokoh bernama Sekaring Tyas Sutejo yang mencari identitas dirinya. Artikel ini menggunakan kajian psikologi Erik Erikson untuk mengungkap proses perwujudan identitas diri dan wujud identitas diri yang tercermin dalam diri tokoh Sekar. Identitas dirinya tokoh Sekar dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik membaca dan mencatat. Hasil analisis data dalam artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa rasa kuriositas yang dialami tokoh Sekar mengenai identitas dirinya diwujudkan dengan kuriositas terhadap karir dan kuriositas terhadap keluarga. Kuriositas tersebut menjadikan Sekar melakukan eksplorasi dan komitmen pada bab karir dan keluarga. Berdasarkan kegiatan eksplorasi dan komitmen, bisa diambil kesimpulan identitas dirinya paraga Sekar yang dibagi atas 4 dimensi, yaitu identitas personal, identitas keluarga, identitas etis moral, dan identitas sosial.
