Abstract


The purposes of this study are, The influence of Contextual Learning Strategy and Achievement Motivation on the effort to Understand Concept and Ability to Solve Problems In Mathematics Field of Study. There are six results of the study which are described as follow: (1) there is a different ability to understand the concept on the group of students taught using contextual learning strategies and those taught using conventional learning strategy,(2) there is a different ability to understand mathematical concepts between groups of students who have high and low achievement motivation,(3) there is no interaction between learning strategies and levels of achievement motivation showed by the students in understanding the mathematical concepts,(4) there is a different ability to solve problems in the field of study between groups of students taught using contextual learning strategy and those taught using Conventional learning strategy,(5) there is a different ability to solve mathematical problems between those who have high levels of achievement motivation and those having low achievement motivation levels, and(6) Learning strategy and the level of achievement motivation show any interaction effect on the ability to solve mathematical problems.
