THE EFFECT OF CAI BASED TOEFL MEDIA INTERACTIVE ON PGSD FIP STATE UNIVERSITY SURABAYA STUDENTS TEP SCORE

Abstract


TOEFL as a requirement that must be met by all of the students who study at the Surabaya State University. Language Centre as a place that deal with a wave of students who have not passed the test. This study has the following objectives are to describe the effect of CAI based TOEFL media interactive on PGSD FIP State University Surabaya students’ TEP scoreThe design of the study is a Quasi Experiment. In the design of this study, a control group is not fully functioning to control external variables that affect the implementation of the experiment. Determination of the population is not done randomly based on a students’ ability level. Quasi- experimental study design has two groups: a control group and an experimental group. After analyzing the test T (T-Test) are obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 and t count equal to -3.597. The results obtained with the sig. (2- tailed) has a smaller value of alpha is 0.05, and t -5.033 have a smaller value of t table is -1.666.Therefore it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the posttest control group with the experimental group, which means a significant difference between the group who has been given treatment with Computer Assisted Instruction on TOEFL results PGSD FIP UNESA students. Based on the results obtained from the T test, then it is clear that there are significanteffect of Computer Assisted Instruction based media use of on the TOEFL results for PGSD FIP UNESA students, the effect that is on the increase in TOEFL score. The influence of the learning outcomes are then tested using normalized Gain, the results shows that the increased TOEFL score occurred in the control group has medium category, while in the experiment group has higher medium category.
