One of the distinguishing characteristics is cognitive style. The aim of this study was to describe the algebraic thinking profile of students who have reflective cognitive styles in solving math problems. This research is descriptive qualitative research, focusing grade 8 junior high school students with reflective cognitive style. Data collection methods using tests and interviews. This study used three types of tests, the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT) to determine students' cognitive style, the Mathematics Ability Test (AMT) to measure students' mathematical abilities, and the Problem-Solving Test (PST) to obtain data related to students' algebraic thinking profile in solving math problems. Data analysis is conducted in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the algebraic thinking of students with reflective cognitive style in solving problems meets the three aspects of algebraic thinking indicators, namely performing activities to generalize the pattern and determine the next term of the given pattern, represent and compare data in tabular form, and understand the meaning of variables and use variables in the form of letters or symbols as a representation of something unknown value in algebraic form. The research methodology used is descriptive quantitative about student study motivation using six indicators from Pintrich [1] after researching the development of microsite-based media with the research and development method and implemented in mathematical statistics lectures. Exploring ethnomathematics will be really beneficial. Apart from acquiring the concept of mathematics in Indonesian culture, it can also sharpen Indonesian culture's sense of love for the nation. The purpose of this study is to describe the philosophical meaning of the geometrical concepts contained in Pamekasan batik, the geometrical concepts contained in Pamekasan batik, and the implementation of Batik pamekasan as the context in learning geometry. This is ethnomathematics study which gather the data by observation and interview. The interview held two regions in Pamekasan with four informants. As a result, scholars aim to conduct an ethnomathematics examination of traditional Pamekasan batik. This research shows that aside from the Batik itself, the mathematical objects found in Batik each have their own meaning and hopes. As a result, mathematical motifs such as the point that depicts a rice or maize seed have philosophical significance. Meanwhile, reflection reveals that human life requires balance. Each mathematical object in the pattern has its own meaning. Meanwhile, geometrical objects in Batik Pamekasan are two-dimensional figures such as circles, rectangles, squares, lines, points, angles, and curves. In addition, transformative geometry like as rotation, reflection, and translation exist in Batik Pamekasan. Besides, batik pamekasan can be used as the context in learning geometry. This can be seen from the learning outcomes that was written in Merdeka curriculum. AKM numerasi memuat permasalahan matematika salah satunya materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang menerapkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Dalam proses pemecahan masalahnya, siswa akan bernalar untuk menghasilkan solusi. Berdasarkan teori <em>Dual-Process</em>, bernalar digolongkan menjadi dua jenis yaitu sistem 1 dan sistem 2. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pelibatan sistem 1 dan sistem 2 siswa SMA dalam memecahkan masalah AKM numerasi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif studi kasus jamak. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua siswa kelas 11 SMA yang melibatkan sistem 1 dan sistem 2 dalam memecahkan masalah AKM numerasi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah Peneliti, masalah AKM numerasi bangun ruang sisi lengkung, alat rekam audio-visual, catatan peneliti dan pedoman wawancara. Data penelitian ini adalah jawaban tertulis subjek dan rekaman wawancara subjek. Data penelitian dianalisa menggunakan rubrik karakteristik sistem 1 dan sistem 2 subjek. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa dengan karakteristik berpikir dominan sistem 1 tanpa melibatkan sistem 2 untuk mengevaluasi jawabannya, menghasilkan solusi masalah yang salah. Di sisi lain, siswa dengan karakteristik berpikir melibatkan sistem 1 dan diiringi aktifnya sistem 2 sebagai evaluator, menghasilkan solusi masalah yang benar. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sistem 2 sangat diperlukan dalam proses pemecahan masalah karena dapat digunakan sebagai pengendali jawaban yang dihasilkan oleh sistem 1.</p> 2023-10-20T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2023
