This study aims to see students' responses to the product development of acid-based solution e-module based on chemical literacy. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research. The research sampling technique used random sampling with the number of research subjects as many as 36 people who were students of the 11th grade in one of public Senior High School in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The data obtained were processed quantitatively with the results of the study showing that the students' response to the acid-base e-module based on chemical literacy was 98.6% of students gave a good response, so this module was good for use in learning chemistry on acid-base material. Suggestions for further research are expected to proceed to the e-module effectiveness test stage.
Fajar Naqsyahbandi Syamsidar Syamsidar Munnal Hani'ah Copyright (c) 2023 JPPIPA (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA) 2023-12-28 2023-12-28 8 2 67 72 10.26740/jppipa.v8n2.p67-72 THE EFFECT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION APPROACH ON CURIOSITY, CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS, AND SCIENCE LEARNING OUTCOMES https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jppipa/article/view/27274
The natural environment around students can become a learning object that provides students with real experiences. This research aims to determine the effect of the Exploring the Natural Environment (JAS) approach on (1) students' curiosity, (2) students' critical thinking skills, and (3) student learning outcomes. This research uses a quasi-experimental design. The population consists of seventh-grade junior high school students. Data collection techniques are carried out using tests and observations. Prerequisite tests are carried out using validation tests, homogeneity tests, and normality tests. The hypothesis analysis technique is carried out using the independent simple t-test. The research results obtained are, One, there is an influence of the JAS approach on students' curiosity with a sig-2tailed result of 0.011 ≤ 0.05, Two, there is no influence of the JAS approach on students' critical thinking skills with a sig-2tailed result of 0.080. This is because students still do not fulfill the six categories of critical thinking according to Facione, Three, there is an influence of the JAS approach on student learning outcomes with a sig-2tailed result value of 0.003 ≤ 0.05. This research concluded that the natural exploration approach (JAS) had an influence on students' learning outcomes and curiosity, but had no effect on students' critical thinking skills. The obstacle in this research is that the time used is still very limited, so better time management is needed.
Annisa Cahya Rahayuningtyas Budi Utami Annisa Nur Khasanah Copyright (c) 2023 JPPIPA (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA) 2023-12-28 2023-12-28 8 2 98 104 10.26740/jppipa.v8n2.p98-104 IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING INDEX CARD MATCH ON SECONDARY STUDENTS’ SCIENCE COGNITIVE LEARNING OUTCOMES https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jppipa/article/view/26132
Science learning is often associated with difficult topic to understand, lecture-dominated instructions, and low participation rate in classroom learning. Similar situation is observed at a secondary school in West Sumatra province, Indonesia. The observation also revealed that students’ cognitive learning outcomes is still under the minimum passing criteria for the topic of the earth's layer. To the citizen of an area that is in high-risk of natural disaster occurrence, sound understanding on the topic is crucial. Since science lesson is designed to develop students’ thinking and problem-solving ability, such understanding is important regarding students’ survival rate. If this situation remains unaddressed, it is concerning that achieving the goals of science lesson, especially related to the topic of Earth’s layer, will be constrained. Therefore, this study offers a solution by implementing the Cooperative Learning Index Card Match (CL-ICM) to see its impact on students’ cognitive learning outcomes. This quasi-experimental research used non-equivalent control group design andh purposive sampling technique to select 67 seventh graders from two classes as experiment and control group. A set of 20 multiple-choice questions was validated and tested for reliability as research instruments to measure students’ learning outcomes. Data was then analyzed with parametric statistics technique followed by hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test. The result of data analysis gave the sig. of 0.091, which led us to decide that the null hypothesis is accepted and research hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. Therefore, it can be summarized that the implementation of CL-ICM does not give significant impact on students’ cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of the earth's layer.
Andini Dwi Yulivia Yulivia Monica Prima Sari Copyright (c) 2023 JPPIPA (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA) 2023-12-28 2023-12-28 8 2 89 97 10.26740/jppipa.v8n2.p89-97 EMPOWERMENT OF PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS THROUGH THE INVESTIGATION THROUGH COOPERATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING (ITCPS) MODEL IN LIVING OF CLASSIFICATION MATERIALS https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jppipa/article/view/26106
Problem-solving is a thinking skill related to how students can find a solution to a problem. Problem-solving skills play an essential role in forming a person who is responsible for decisions taken and faces challenges. This study aims to determine the effect of the Investigations Through Cooperative Problem Solving (ITCPS) model on empowering problem-solving skills in the Classification of Living Things material. This study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted in semester 1 at one of Junior High School in Karanganyar. Random sampling technique to determine control class and experimental class in seventh grade students namely 7B and 7C. Data collection used a problem-solving skills test instrument and limited interviews. Analysis used independent sample t-test using SPSS software and N-Gain Score. The results showed that the ITCPS learning model affected empowering problem-solving skills with a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 and the N-Gain Score test of 53.18 (medium increase). This research implies that the ITCPS learning model with group-based problem investigation can empower problem-solving skills.
Bayu Rizki Prasadityo Mohammad Masykuri Budi Utami Copyright (c) 2023 JPPIPA (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA) 2023-12-28 2023-12-28 8 2 52 58 10.26740/jppipa.v8n2.p52-58 IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF 7TH GRADE STUDENTS IN NGANJUK https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jppipa/article/view/25524
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Project Based Learning implementation on improving students' oral communication skills. The research method used was classroom action research with two learning cycles. The subjects in this study were students of class VII-C at one of the junior high school in Nganjuk. The data for this study were obtained from observation sheets and questionnaires on oral communication skills. This research uses Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis with steps data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. The observation result showed that the average achievement indicator for oral communication skills in pre-cycle was 14.38%, cycle 1 was 30.72%, and cycle 2 was 47.71%. The results of the pre-cycle student response questionnaire was 19.28%, cycle 1 was 37.90% and cycle 2 was 50.37%. These show that there is an effect of implementing project based learning in the form of improving students' oral communication skills.
Dewi Nur Rohmatin Catur Wahyu Widodo Titin Masfingatin Copyright (c) 2023 JPPIPA (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan IPA) 2023-12-28 2023-12-28 8 2 59 66 10.26740/jppipa.v8n2.p59-66
