Abstract

Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have opened new avenues for developing innovative and efficient learning media. One such application is the use of AI video generators capable of automatically transforming instructional text into educational videos complete with narration, visuals, and animations. This community service initiative aimed to enhance the competence and self-reliance of elementary school teachers in utilizing AI technology to create creative and contextually relevant learning media. The program involved 70 teachers from the Teacher Working Group (KKG) in Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, Bali, most of whom had not previously used script-based AI video generator tools. The training was implemented over four days, consisting of one full day of face-to-face training and three subsequent days of asynchronous online mentoring through a WhatsApp Group. The training employed the 4T model (Teach–Try–Tutor–Track), emphasizing participatory learning through conceptual introduction, hands-on practice, mentoring, and output evaluation. Evaluation instruments comprised pre- and post-tests, a media-product assessment rubric, and reflection questionnaires. The evaluation showed a 24% increase in participants' understanding of AI video generator concepts and technical skills, while 89% of participants rated the training as highly beneficial. Teachers were able to produce engaging educational videos lasting 2–3 minutes and to develop greater confidence as independent digital-content creators. The activity also strengthened collaboration and sharing of good practices within the KKG network, contributing to digital literacy, pedagogical creativity, and AI-supported learning transformation in elementary schools.
