Peer Review Process
The peer review process aims to ensure that high-quality manuscripts relevant to the journal’s subject area are published. All manuscripts submitted to the journal will undergo peer review in accordance with the applicable procedures:
1. Administrative assessment
Manuscripts will be checked by the administrator to ensure that they meet the specified prerequisites. If a submission does not meet all or some of the criteria, it will be rejected and the author will be asked to resubmit once the issues have been resolved.
2. Initial Editorial Assessment
One of the Editors-in-Chief assesses all submitted manuscripts. A manuscript may be rejected at this stage if it lacks sufficient originality, contains serious scientific flaws, is poorly written, or falls outside the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that meet the minimum criteria are managed by the Editor-in-Chief or forwarded to an Associate Editor to manage the peer-review process.
The peer-review system used is double-blind, meaning that reviewers do not know the authors’ identities and vice versa. Authors and the initial article are not disclosed until the article is accepted for further review and publication. Some of the policies are as follows: Every submitted manuscript will be reviewed by reviewers. Reviewers will assess the submitted manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s guidelines and formatting requirements. The review process is conducted to ensure the quality of the manuscripts. Every manuscript submitted will be reviewed by at least two reviewers to ensure the quality of the article. The review process will take into account novelty, objectivity, methodology, scientific impact, conclusions and references. Reviewers will also provide feedback on whether the article is accepted, rejected, or requires minor or major revisions.
The ASEAN Journal of Halal Study reserves the full right to decide whether an article is accepted or rejected.
