Preparedness is a series of individual and community activities that can respond to disasters appropriately and effectively, especially for people who live in disaster-prone areas. Jember Regency is an area that has a high risk of earthquakes and tsunamis. This study aimed to determine the correlation between knowledge and the level of community preparedness in facing earthquake and tsunami disasters in RW 05 Sidorejo Village, Umbulsari District, Jember. This study aimed to determine the correlation between knowledge and the level of community preparedness in facing earthquake and tsunami disasters.

Methods: this study used a correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a sample size of 42 respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure respondents' knowledge and individual/household preparedness survey questions from LIPI-UNESCO. The statistical test used in this study was Spearman rank correlations with a significance level of α = <0.05.

Results: the results showed that: there is a moderate positive correlation between knowledge and the level of community preparedness in facing earthquake and tsunami disasters.

Conclusions: the level of community preparedness is quite good. However, when viewed from the factor of knowledge about disasters, there are still respondents from low preparedness who have low knowledge about disasters, so efforts are needed to improve community preparedness, namely by increasing knowledge and skills in dealing with earthquake and tsunami disasters through cooperation between the village head and BPBD to conduct disaster preparedness training socialization to the community.
Sisilia Indriasari Widianingtyas, Michelle Gabriel Lontoh, Yuni Kurniawaty Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/29396 Tue, 16 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Functional Fitness in Elderly Men and Women https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/28701
Background: Functional fitness is a concept that represents the optimal physical capacity required to continue normal daily activities, independently and without the onset of premature fatigue. The research aims to determine functional fitness in elderly people between the ages of 60-69 (young elderly) and 70-84 (older elderly).

Methods: This research is to carry out a senior fitness test, namely a series of tests to assess functional fitness in the elderly. The research subjects were 31 elderly women and men, aged 60 - > 85 years. The test consists of 5 functional fitness measurements, as follows 30-Second Chair Stand Test, 30-Second Arm Curl Test, 2 minute step test, Chair Sit and Reach test and 8 Foot Up and Go Test.

Results: The results of this study: Most elderly people have good leg and upper limb strength which was obtained from examination with the 30-second chair stand test (68%), and 30-second arm curl test (90%). Aerobic endurance from the two minute step test was obtained by the majority of elderly people with good results (97%), limb flexibility from the results of the chair and reach test (57%). Coordination, agility and dynamic balance obtained from the 8 foot up and go test showed that most (68%) were poor

Conclusions: Elderly people at Posyandu Rosan Kemuning RW 3 Kebraon Subdistrict and Rumah SSpS Java Province showed that most of the functional fitness components (muscle strength, flexibility, aerobic endurance) were good. Coordination, agility and dynamic balance are lacking. Further research needs to be done regarding exercise or physical activity to improve functional fitness components that are lacking
Dwi Purwantini, Ni Nyoman Wahyu Lestarina Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/28701 Tue, 16 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Overview of the Runners at the 2022 Pocari Sweat Run https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/27333
Background: One of the sporting events that is currently popular is running. Running events are increasingly mushrooming in various cities in Indonesia, both on a local, national and even international scale. Pocari sweat run Indonesia 2022 is entering its ninth year, this time being held in Bandung City, the capital of West Java Province, on the week of July 24 2022.

Methods: This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The number of running participants was 4355 people, divided into 3 categories, full marathon, half marathon and 10 km run. All data are presented as mean ± SD, minimum value and maximum value..

Results: The results of the study were that most half marathon and 10km runners were aged ≤40 years. More women take part in running competitions in the 10km category. Participants running the full marathon, with the fastest finishing time at 14.36 WIB, for half marathoners aged ≤40 years, with the fastest time at 13.10 WIB. At age >40 years, the fastest time for the half marathon was 13.27 WIB, the 10 km category was based on age group, where age ≤40 years, the participant with the fastest finish time finished the race at 12.32 WIB. At the age of >40 years, the participant with the fastest time was 12.40 WIB.

Conclusions: Running participants are dominated by men, most aged <40 years. The 10km and half marathon categories are the categories with the highest number of enthusiasts compared to the full marathon. One of the findings in this research is the need for special attention to women's participation, especially in running events.
Bagus Tri Budi Antoro, Andika Bayu Putro Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Journal of Kinanthropology (IJOK) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/27333 Wed, 31 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Identification of Injuries and Physical Conditions in Semarang City Indoor Hockey Athletes in 2023 https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/IJOK/article/view/26843
Background: Hockey athletes require components of the physical condition of speed, agility and endurance in the game.
